Alejo Veliz, a forward for Tottenham Hotspur, has apparently surfaced as a potential late January transfer target for Sevilla.
Spurs spent around £12 million in the summer to buy the youthful Argentine striker from Rosario Central.
When the 20-year-old arrived, it was expected that he would not play much for the first team as he adjusted to the demands of English football.
That has been demonstrated by the fact that Veliz has only had 45 minutes of action during his eight Premier League appearances.
Veliz scored his first goal for Spurs in the team’s 4-2 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on December 28, however three days later, in the match against Bournemouth, he suffered a knee injury.
Currently, Spurs will have to deal with the Argentina Under-20 international’s absence until he returns to action at the beginning of March.
But with Timo Werner joining from RB Leipzig, Son Heung-min expected to return from the Asian Cup, and Spurs out of the FA Cup, there may not be many more senior-level opportunities this season.

Spurs are currently debating whether to let the potential play out the remainder of the season elsewhere, according to the Daily Mail.
Sevilla is reported to have offered Veliz a loan arrangement that is rumoured to have no options or commitments in exchange for his temporary relocation to Spain.
Rafa Mir, the team’s backup striker, has been pursued by teams like Torino and Valencia, one of his previous clubs, and it seems likely that the adaptable attacker will be permitted to go out on loan.
Given that Sevilla has only won three of their 22 La Liga games in 2023–24 and that Los Nervionenses are only one point above the relegation zone, Sevilla would then need backup for Youssef En-Nesyri.
