Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is allegedly interested in bringing Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain to Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
During his time at RB Leipzig, the 25-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester United, but he eventually agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain in July 2022.
Mukiele appeared on 25 occasions for PSG during the 2022-23 season, but he has only played seven minutes for the French champions this season.
There is already conjecture over the Frenchman’s long-term future in Paris, and according to FootballTransfers, Manchester United could make a January approach for him.
According to the report, Mukiele is regarded as a ‘viable target,’ with PSG willing to let him leave for the right price during the winter market.
The two senior right-backs at Old Trafford are Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, although the latter is now out with a muscular ailment, while the former has struggled to impress this season.
Man United were expected to sign a right-back this summer, with Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen prominently linked with a transfer to Old Trafford.
Despite being linked with a move early this year, Wan-Bissaka stayed, with the Englishman improving in the second half of last season.
Wan-Bissaka started the season as the first-choice right-back, but Dalot is now filling in owing to an injury to the former Crystal Palace youth.
Ten Hag is said to be concerned about Wan-Bissaka’s ‘personality,’ claiming that he has the mindset required to be a successful squad member.
Meanwhile, Dalot’s ‘defensive stability’ is believed to worry Man United head coach Jose Mourinho, who is under fire after six defeats in ten games this season in all competitions.
The 20-time English champions are currently facing major defensive issues, as three left-backs, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Sergio Reguilon, are all injured.
Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez has had a foot operation, and the center-back will be out for two to three months as he heals.
Man United are also rumored to be interested in signing a new attacker in January, with Jadon Sancho widely expected to go after his spat with Ten Hag.
