Federico Valverde’s Loyalty to Real Madrid Shines Amid Exit Speculation
According to Federico Valverde, he never gave the idea of leaving Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Valverde has made a name for himself on the Los Blancos team ever since his early appearances with Penarol and Deportivo La Coruna.
Of 209 games in all competitions, mostly on the right side or in center midfield, the player has provided 19 goals and 15 assists.
The most recent of these goals came on Sunday, when the Uruguayan international netted the equalizer as Madrid overcame Real Sociedad to win 2-1 at the Bernabeu.
That gave Carlo Ancelotti’s team five straight victories in La Liga, but the equalizer against a rival came from a player who was constantly linked with a transfer before the end of August.
There was a thought that Jude Bellingham, 25, could be sold because of the variety of alternatives available to Ancelotti with the 25-year-old’s purchase from Borussia Dortmund.
In a transaction that would have cost more than £80 million, Valvarde was linked to Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
According to a report, Valverde regretted not showing greater interest in a move to the Premier League at the time each of the three clubs in question were bolstering their respective midfield lineups.
Valverde has asserted that he has never intended to leave Spain’s capital city prior to the end of business for another four months, as reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Valverde stated following Sunday’s match against Sociedad: “Premier League offers? I am capable of playing for Real.
“If I don’t feel like that one day, I’ll probably look for another solution or Real will do it for me.”
Romano has previously asserted that Valverde, who has four years remaining on his contract, has received at least two offers to move to England.
When Real hosts Union Berlin in the Champions League on Wednesday night, Valverde will be hoping to keep his place in the starting lineup.
