Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has stated that he believes Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should be included in the team for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma ought to captain the national squad in the forthcoming T20 World Cup in 2020, according to Gautam Gambhir.
Since the team’s 10-wicket loss to England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not played in Twenty20 International cricket.
Since the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has led the T20I team, indicating a possible change in leadership.
During an interview with Sportskeeda, Gautam Gambhir selected Rohit Sharma to captain the Indian squad at the World Cup the next year.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should be in the team for the major tournament, according to Gambhir.
“Definitely, it is necessary and appropriate to choose both Kohli and Rohit. Most significantly, though, I hope Rohit Sharma captains the T20 World Cup.

Gambhir told Sportskeeda, “Yes, Hardik Pandya has led in Twenty20 Internationals, but I still want to see Rohit Sharma lead in the Twenty20 World Cup.
He has demonstrated that with his batting in this World Cup. Virat Kohli will be selected automatically if Rohit Sharma is selected.
Rohit Sharma needs to be chosen as captain rather than merely a batsman if he chooses to compete in the T20 World Cup, he continued.
Next year’s World Cup is slated to take place in the USA and the Caribbean from June 4–30.
Rohit Sharma declared his availability for selection in August and conveyed his excitement to be included in the World Cup team.
