For the IND against AFG T20I series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were back in the lineup, but KL Rahul was not.

Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player who is now a commentator, stated on his YouTube channel that he is unsure of the reason for KL Rahul’s exclusion from the team for the IND vs. AFG T20I series.

India’s top three players in the T20 World Cup 2022 were KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma. Rahul has not been listed among them. Or he’s been let go.

The details of what transpired are unclear. However, he is not present. The former India opener stated, “There may be a conversation about that as well.

Ten-time Indian Test player Aakash Chopra added that KL Rahul, if not the opener, may play in the middle order in Twenty20 international cricket.

“Rahul has a strike rate of over 135 in T20 cricket, which is not bad.” You can play the opener in the middle, just like in One-Day Internationals, even if his role isn’t available. You completed it for the tests as well,” the 46-year-old continued.

Last year, KL Rahul was benched from the opening T20I match in favour of Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

In numerous games played last year, Yashasvi Jaiswal was even named as the starter.

Rahul, though, has dominated in both Tests and ODIs. Rahul moved to the wicketkeeper position for India in the 2023 Asia Cup and ODI World Cup following the dismissal of Rishabh Pant.

In Rohit Sharma’s absence during the preceding series against South Africa, he also captained the ODI team. The squad won the series 2-1 with Rahul in charge.
