Prior to the summer transfer season, Jamal Musiala, who is connected to Liverpool, is apparently being targeted by Bayern Munich for a figure of £100 million.

The 21-year-old made the high-profile move to Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern in the summer of 2019 after ten years in Chelsea’s youth system.

Since then, Musiala has established himself as a vital player at the Allianz Arena, starting 155 games for the Bavarians in all competitions and scoring 41 goals.

The winger has contributed 13 goals in 20 league games, even though Thomas Tuchel’s team lost to Bayer Leverkusen in the quest for the Bundesliga title.

Football Insider reports that Liverpool is eager to sign the young player Musiala before the 2024–25 season, which will be the first without Jurgen Klopp for the Reds in nine years.

According to the report, the Merseyside club is looking to move on after long-serving coach Klopp left, and they have made signing the Germany international a top goal this summer.

Musiala, 21, is expected to fetch a high price from Bayern since it is believed that the team does not intend to let go of him at the end of the current campaign.

The attacker, who was a fixture in the first squad at Chelsea, is reportedly unwilling to leave Tuchel’s team for less than £100 million.

It is thought that Bayern is trying to come to an agreement with Musiala on fresh terms because his Bavarian contract is set to expire in the summer of 2026.

The 25-time international is rumoured to have turned down offers for a new contract recently, and a number of top European teams are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.

In addition to Klopp’s Liverpool, Muisala’s potential suitors in the Premier League and Champions League are reportedly Manchester City.

Real Madrid, the 14-time European winners, are reportedly interested in the German, so a big struggle for his signature may not be far off.

Chelsea, the player’s former team, will be keeping a close eye on any possible transfer drama this summer as the Blues stand to gain financially from the player’s departure.

A 20% sell-on option is said to have been added by Mauricio Pochettino’s team to the agreement that saw Muisala go from Stamford Bridge to the Allianz Arena in June 2019.
