Manchester United’s Interest in Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey Grows
The right-back has been attracting interest from European teams as of late due to his impressive performances for Galatasaray this season.
Boey, who has participated in all 27 of the team’s competitive games this season, is considered an important player of Okan Buruk’s squad.
Man United is rumoured to be one of Boey’s admirers after expressing interest in the 23-year-old in the past.
The Red Devils are still interested in signing the defender, who has less than two years left on his contract, which expires in the summer of 2025, according to Turkish publication Fanatik.
Boey’s abilities will be well known to Man United as the team faces Galatasaray in two Champions League group matches this year.
After a thrilling 3-3 draw in their encounter in Turkey last month, Galatasaray emerged from October’s 3-2 victory at Old Trafford, placing them in third place and ahead of Manchester United.
Despite rumours that Man United is interested in the Frenchman, it might be challenging to pry him away in the middle of the campaign.
Except for the players who have already been included to the transfer list, Galatasaray is hesitant to approve any sales during the winter transfer window.
In order to defend their Turkish Super Lig championship and get ready for a trip to the Europa League knockout stages, they do not want to thin their roster in the midst of the season.
Even if they are not in the market to sell in January, they may decide to consider bids when the 2023–24 campaign is over.
Man United’s willingness to make a stronger move is still unclear, especially considering that right backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot are expected to remain with the team.
Dalot’s current contract ends at the conclusion of this season, and Man United is anticipated to activate an extension for Wan-Bissaka, whose current term expires at least June 2028.
Marseille of Ligue 1 may present competition if they pursue a move for Boey, as the full-back is being watched by them.
