Ravichandran Ashwin: Unexpected Confession Sparks Curiosity
Jadeja’s ability to consistently land deliveries in the same location and play it simple with the bat was praised by Ashwin.
For the team, Ashwin and Jadeja are a deadly combination, especially at home.
Ashwin admitted that Virat Kohli is currently the most handsome cricket player in an interview with Sportstar.
Nonetheless, Ashwin acknowledged his respect for Jadeja’s abilities by revealing that the cricketer of whom he is most jealous is him.
I don’t like to be jealous, but there is one individual that I am constantly envious of—not of anyone else. Virat Kohli is the best cricket player right now, the most marketable player, and the most attractive player in the game. But the cricketer I’m most jealous of is Ravindra Jadeja,” Ashwin stated on Sportstar.
“There is a stark difference between my journey and Ravindra Jadeja’s. Ravindra Jadeja is a very athletic player who can consistently hit the ball in the same position, play the bat with ease, and look like a million bucks most of the time. I’m not able to do it,” Ashwin said.
Ashwin confessed that he struggled for a while to articulate his admiration for Ravindra Jadeja but eventually managed to do so. He realised how reliant they are on one another’s advantages at cricket.
I was unable to tell him this for a considerable amount of time for whatever reason. However, I managed to communicate this to him.
I believe there is a never-ending competition, even between us, to see who is superior to the other. However, the truth is that we cannot survive apart,” he went on.
“There would be no Ashwin without Jadeja, and vice versa, but it doesn’t change the fact that he excels at keeping things straightforward and avoids overanalyzing them.
I can’t hit the ball with the same location or bat speed if I’m not inquisitive and don’t overthink things. If he is overanalyzing everything all the time, he cannot be who he is.
Thus, Ashwin concluded, “this is a classic example of people engaging in similar trades and succeeding in their own ways.”
