Australian head coach of the Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting believes that Rishabh Pant, the captain of the club, ought to represent India in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.

Pant, who has scheduled his IPL 2024 comeback to competitive cricket following a 14-month recuperation period, will be eager to get the opportunity to play in the USA and the West Indies.

This would be his first significant competition with team India after he didn’t appear in any games during the 2022 T20 World Cup.

The Indian men’s top selection committee, chaired by Ajit Agarkar, will reveal the team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in less than two weeks. Some capped players and a large number of uncapped players are making every effort to be chosen and acknowledged.

All eyes will be on whether Rishabh Pant makes the cut, even though the core group will remain the same as the one that participated in the 50-over World Cup last year.

India has choices for wicket-keeper batsmen that include Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, and Rishabh Pant. While Ishan Kishan is also a contender, Pant and Samson will square off for that position.

However, reports over the past two weeks have indicated that the DC captain, along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav, is already included on the provisional 10-man list.

According to Ricky Ponting, Rishabh Pant’s confidence has increased along with his batting ability.

Ahead of the Delhi Capitals’ upcoming home game against the Gujarat Titans tomorrow, Ricky Ponting revealed some shocking information on Rishabh Pant to media representatives.

First, Ponting stated that Pant’s self-belief about his body has grown along with his batting, both of which have improved significantly from earlier in the season.

It was evident to Ponting that Pant was a little nervous about his physical state and whether or not he would be able to hold the wickets.

But now that he has played his first game following that horrifying automobile accident in December 2022, nearly a month has passed, and Rishabh Pant is more confident in his abilities and his ability to keep wicket.

“I believe that as the game goes on, his batting gets better and better. I believe that he has also begun to have a little more faith and confidence in his body. I believe that in the beginning he was a little nervous, especially about his wicketkeeping side. Before the competition, he had played a little bit of hitting.”

“When holding a bat, he exhibited a fair amount of trust. However, he’s been playing pretty well behind the stumps lately.” – At the Arun Jaitley stadium, Ricky Ponting spoke with media representatives.

Pant will “for sure” be in the Indian squad, according to Ponting.

Ponting went on to say that Pant is too talented to be left out of India’s 15-man T20 World Cup squad, and that Pant has every chance of being included. Rishabh Pant can have a significant impact for Team India, according to Ponting.

“He is becoming an increasingly proficient batter. by the activity. And now that he’s back on the field, I believe he will undoubtedly be included in that group when it comes to his prospects of winning the World Cup.

For India to leave him out of the squad, he is too talented a player and can affect the game too much.” Ponting came to an end.
