Conor Gallagher, a midfield player for Chelsea, is apparently open to receiving an early summer offer from Tottenham Hotspur.
With the pairing of Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma, head coach Ange Postecoglou has given Spurs’ midfield a new look since taking over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Additionally, Rodrigo Bentancur has been utilised frequently, with Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg typically offering strength in depth.
Even still, Spurs’ relative success in 2023–2024 hasn’t stopped the North Londoners from being frequently associated with Gallagher.
With 34 starts and four substitute appearances in all competitions, Mauricio Pochettino considers the England international to be an important player.
In addition, Gallagher is Stamford Bridge’s third-choice captain and is excited to sign new contracts at his childhood club after having to take out multiple loans before being given the opportunity to play in the first team.
However, co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have a well-documented history of being willing to cash in on the 24-year-old if doing so will greatly improve the club’s standing with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability criteria.
Regarding any contract talks, there have also been conflicting reports. It is said that the relevant parties are no closer to reaching a consensus, while another allegation suggests that Chelsea was unable to meet Gallagher’s demands.
However, Football Insider claims that Spurs are getting ready to make a lowball offer to Chelsea in order to test their willingness to accept their asking price.
Spurs are rumoured to be considering a bid of about £30 million, knowing that Chelsea has to strengthen their balance sheet by June 30, the final accounting date for 2023–24.
Spurs may be willing to pay up to £40 million for the academy graduate, but it is still less than Chelsea is willing to pay.

The fact that Chelsea has not been able to draw in bids for other domestic players, such Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, complicates the position, and Boehly and Clearlake Capital will have to keep looking for other ways to get the necessary money.
Gallagher is in a situation where remaining put this summer may conceivably lead to Boehly and Clearlake being more motivated to come to an agreement over a new contract, but it is uncertain whether he would be ready to expedite an exit from Chelsea.
