Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has dismissed rumours that he is considering a job at Bayern Munich.

The German team is now looking for a new manager to take over for Thomas Tuchel, who has announced that he would step down at the end of the current campaign.

Before the Spaniard announced his plan to remain with Bayer Leverkusen for at least one more season, it was claimed that Bayern had identified Xabi Alonso as a possible target.

Although Julian Nagelsmann, the manager of Germany, has been linked to a return to the Allianz Arena, he recently inked a new contract committing to the national team through 2026.

Zinedine Zidane is seen as a possible possibility as well, but at the moment, the Frenchman is expressing greater interest in managing Manchester United.

As Bayern looks at other choices, Emery has surfaced as a candidate to take Tuchel’s place before the 2024–25 season, according to Bild.

According to the article, Bayern is reportedly interested in both Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi and Emery.

Emery, who has a contract with Aston Villa through the summer of 2027, would need Bayern to agree on a transfer fee in order to get him away.

Even if a move to the Allianz Arena has been suggested, Emery has stated he is totally dedicated to his role as Aston Villa’s manager.

When questioned about the rumours after Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth, Emery responded, “I am focused here, 100%,” to reporters.

Villa supporters will do everything in their power to keep Emery, but given his remarkable resume, it is not surprising that he is being connected to some of the top positions in Europe.

Throughout his managerial career, Emery has received numerous honours, including three straight Europa League championships with Sevilla.

Before spending two years as Villarreal’s manager and guiding the Spanish team to the 2020–21 Europa League and the 2021–22 Champions League semi finals, the 52-year-old was employed by Paris Saint–Germain and Arsenal.

In November 2022, Emery departed from Villarreal to take the helm of Aston Villa, guiding the Midlands team from 16th place to ninth place.

In his first full season with the Villains, Emery has guided Aston Villa to fourth place in the Europa Conference League and the semifinals.
