Charlie Patino is apparently set to be sold by Arsenal during the summer transfer season.
The midfielder first made an impression on the scene in December 2021 when he scored a goal in an EFL Cup match against Sunderland.
However, as time has gone on, the academy product has found himself loaned out to Championship clubs rather than solidifying his position as a member of Mikel Arteta’s side.
In the second division of English football, Patino has made a total of 41 starts and 24 substitute appearances during stints with Blackpool and Swansea City, respectively.
The 20-year-old hasn’t played more than 57 minutes in a first-team match since January 25, although he has been out of the Swansea starting lineup for the majority of the year.
That has naturally raised questions about whether he will ever be able to defend his inclusion in the senior ranks of Arsenal.
The Gunners are prepared to cash in on the England Under-21 international at the end of the current campaign, according to the Evening Standard.
Patino’s contract will have just one year left on it at this point because club executives appear to would rather strengthen their financial position than grant a renewal.

Despite not having played professional or youth Spanish football, Patino’s style of play has been likened to that of former Arsenal and Spain players Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla.

With less than 15 months left on his contract, Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian international, has made five appearances since his injury return.
Jorginho’s contract has the option to be extended past the current season, but it’s unclear if Arteta will stick with the 32-year-old in the starting lineup.
