According to reports, Arsenal plans to go on yet another extravagant spending spree this summer by adding three or four new statement signings to the team.

The Gunners spent more than £200 million in the summer window of 2023, bringing in £105 million to sign Declan Rice, a British record signee, and Kai Havertz.

Although an ACL injury has hindered Timber’s first season with Mikel Arteta’s team, Havertz and Rice have been mainstays of the Gunners starting lineup as they strive for Premier League glory.

The Gunners lead the way by one point over Manchester City and two points above Liverpool, who have played one additional game, ahead of Sunday’s exciting North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal does not, however, control whether or not they win the title because they have a match left to play. Arteta’s team may win every game left but still lose if the Citizens accomplish the same thing.

FootballTransfers reports that Arteta and sports director Edu have set their eyes on bringing at least three, and possibly as many as four, big signings to the Emirates for 2024–25, regardless of Arsenal’s title outcome.

Arsenal’s transfer budget is expected to increase by an incredible £79 million as a result of their Champions League run, but they are still subject to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Gunners, who are rumoured to be keeping an eye on forwards like RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, are anticipated to place a high priority on finding a new midfielder and striker.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is set to look for a new left-back due to concerns over Oleksandr Zinchenko’s form. Two top midfield targets are Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.

In addition, should Aaron Ramsdale depart this summer, a replacement goalkeeper will need to be found. The Gunners may also look to sign a new right winger, as Bukayo Saka is now without a backup and frequently experiences niggles during games.

The outmoded Ramsdale is just one of many marginal players who are expected to be let go this summer. Arsenal will undoubtedly need to increase their cash through sales before they can hope to go on another nine-figure purchasing binge.

When his contract expires, Cedric Soares will undoubtedly be leaving, as should Mohamed Elneny, while Jorginho’s has not had his contract extended past the end of the current campaign.

Having shown their value to Arteta at different stages this season, the Italian and Thomas Partey—whose contract expires in 2025—might be able to return for the following campaign, but the same cannot be said about Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reiss Nelson.

When it comes to the summer cull, where up to five loanees—including Kieran Tierney, Marquinhos, and Nuno Tavares—may also be cut, the trio’s homegrown status would work to their advantage.

Arthur Okonkwo of Wrexham is scheduled to become a free agent in June and is not expected to have his contract extended. Albert Sambi Lokonga has shown promise at Luton Town and may be given another shot.
