Morgan Rogers, a forward for Middlesbrough, has signed a long-term contract with Aston Villa.
To stay competitive at the top of the Premier League standings, the West Midlands team has been trying to strengthen their attacking ranks throughout January.
After falling to Newcastle United 3-1 on Tuesday, Unai Emery‘s team has now only won once in five games and is currently in fifth place in the standings.

However, Villa has finally secured their main target for the month in Rogers, despite Middlesbrough rejecting several bids.
Although the exact cost has not been made public, it is believed to be around £15 million. Boro decided to make a profit on a player that they had only signed from Manchester City the previous summer.

Although Rogers did not have a significant influence during his loan periods at Lincoln City and Blackpool, the England Under-20 international was a revelation during his brief stay at the Riverside Stadium.
Rogers led Boro with five goals and three assists from just six appearances, leading the team to the EFL Cup semi-finals, where they were ultimately defeated by Chelsea.

Despite only managing two goals and six assists in 26 Championship games, Rogers demonstrated his ability with a long-range goal against Chelsea in between Chelsea’s rejections of his proposals.
The player, who moved to Man City in 2019 and will have a sell-on clause, is no stranger to the West Midlands, having spent time in the West Bromwich Albion academy ranks.
Rogers has been assigned the number 27 shirt by Villa, and on Saturday night when Villa plays Sheffield United in the premier league, he might make his debut.
