Jofra Archer, an England bowler, will not be playing for his team in the next white-ball tour against the West Indies next month.

The fast bowler experienced elbow soreness while working out with the squad for the ICC World Cup 2023.

Jofra Archer was not included in the England World Cup roster. As a traveling reserve, he was a late addition to the team and received his recovery there. He did, however, feel agony and returned home.

After participating in two modest training sessions with the squad, Jofra Archer experienced discomfort.

Instead of adding a traveling reserve, England was compelled to call up Brydon Carse to replace the injured Reece Topley due to his recent injury.

He is currently unable to play in the ODI and T20I series against the West Indies due to his pain.

Rob Key, managing director of England, stated that they anticipated Jofra Archer to be ready for action by the World Cup’s conclusion. He also disclosed that the results of his scans were clear. He clarified:

“Originally, the thought was that he was going to be alright for the back end of the competition. It was a risk worth taking. He had his scans, and they all came up clear.”

“He flies over here, comes out to Mumbai, bowls, and actually then he feels pain in his elbow. So then, the view was, ‘right, this is going to be a risk too far’. Because of the upside, that’s what lures you in.

“You start looking at things like the Ashes in two years, the T20 World Cup… Jofra adds so much to that. You don’t want to risk rushing something to see that kibosh the rest of his career. So we then said, ‘right, fine, this isn’t the right way to go.”

“Rather than just keep him hanging around and not really doing anything, let’s send him back home and get in Brydon Carse who had been preparing.’”

Rob Key went on to say that Jofra Archer won’t be named to the team until he is totally fit. He stated that, with the upcoming Ashes and the T20 World Cup, they need to exercise caution when it comes to him.

“He won’t be in the squad until he’s ready and fit, and even then, it will take some time for him to build up.” It won’t be simple, and we must exercise extreme caution.

“We are in severe need of Jofra. Because of the potential rewards, we place that wager with him that we want him to return healthy and ready to play for England.

Jofra Archer’s elbow kept him out of the game for a long time. In the recent ODI series against England, he returned to cricket. He participated in a couple IPL games as well, but was once more disqualified from play.
