According to reports, Manchester United employees are worried that Marcus Rashford and head coach Erik ten Hag’s relationship “has broken down irrevocably.”

Although Rashford excelled under Ten Hag the previous season, he has mainly struggled in 2023–24, managing just five goals and six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

The England international has been very irritable this season. Last month, he was reportedly fined two weeks’ salary for going to a Dublin nightclub twice in a row and then missing practice due to illness before his team’s FA Cup match against Newport County.

The Nightclub Scandal infuriated Ten Hag, who has ‘not been on speaking terms’ with Rashford since the event, according to The Sun.

According to the article, the two people’s relationship has not been fixed, and the club is now genuinely concerned about the circumstances.

Although Rashford is once more anticipated to start for the team on Wednesday night against Nottingham Forest, club employees apparently think that the relationship may not be able to be repaired.

Rashford started through the middle against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday due to Rasmus Hojlund’s injury, and it is anticipated that he will do the same in Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round match.

Last summer, Rashford committed to a new long-term deal at Old Trafford that will keep him there through the summer of 2028.

In recent months, there has been conjecture regarding his future. Paris Saint-Germain is rumoured to be closely monitoring the situation as they get ready to sign a player to replace Kylian Mbappe.

It is thought, nevertheless, that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Man United’s new minority stakeholder, has no intention of selling Rashford in the summer transfer window.

However, Ten Hag’s future as head coach remains uncertain as Ratcliffe has not publicly shown his trust in the Dutchman.

Ten Hag faced additional criticism after the Red Devils’ 2-1 Premier League loss at home to Fulham on Saturday, bringing their season total of losses across all competitions to 15.

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly still available, having left Real Madrid in 2021, and Ratcliffe ‘dreams’ of taking Zidane’s job as the team’s new head coach.

Graham Potter, the former manager of Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, is also said to be being watched for the position, and Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan is reportedly being watched because of his outstanding work at San Siro.
