Two Indian Premier League (IPL) teams are allegedly interested in former India head coach Rahul Dravid.
His two-year deal with Team India expired following the conclusion of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
With India’s great World Cup success, many people anticipated that the BCCI would give Rahul Dravid a longer contract.
To spend more time with his family, Dravid, however, is unwilling to extend his contract with Team India.
The renowned batsman has already informed the BCCI of this, according to a story in The Times of India.
As the team’s head coach, VVS Laxman, a former teammate, is most likely to succeed him.
In the current five-match Twenty20 International series between India and Australia, Laxman is serving as India’s acting head coach.
Laxman has indicated how excited he is about the position. Laxman went to Ahmedabad during the World Cup to speak with the BCCI’s top executives in this respect.
The news outlet was informed by a BCCI source that “he is expected to sign a long-term contract as the Team India coach, and he will definitely travel with the team in that capacity for the upcoming tour of South Africa, which will be his first as the full-time India head coach.”
Journalist Abhishek Tripathi of Dainik Jagran has revealed that Rahul Dravid, a former Indian batter, has received offers from two IPL franchises, while there is still uncertainty around the player’s future.
