Recently, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made a suggestion on a possible 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) contender for the No. 4 spot on the Chennai Super Kings.
Karun Nair may start in lieu of Ambati Rayudu in the starting lineup, according to Ravichandran Ashwin.
For CSK, Rayudu was essential to their successful 2018 comeback campaign. After the franchise won their fifth IPL championship in 2023, Rayudu declared his retirement from all Indian cricket competitions.
It will be up to the team to select his replacement at the next auction.
In a video posted on his YouTube account, Ravichandran Ashwin made the claim that CSK has a history of favouring well-known players over up-and-coming talent.
Shahrukh Khan would not be the best choice for the No. 4 spot, Ashwin said.
“I think they’re going to give it to Karun Nair.” They are trying to find someone to take Ambati Rayudu’s place.
He cannot be replaced at number four by Shahrukh. This season, I don’t know who they’ll put in that role, said Ashwin.
