When asked what he thought about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli rejoining India’s Twenty20 Indian Premier League team after a one and a half-year absence, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who played a major role in the revolution in Indian cricket, had a particular response.

Virat Kohli will make his much anticipated comeback tomorrow in the 2nd T20I at Indore’s Holkar stadium, while Rohit returned to the team during the first T20I against Afghanistan two days ago.

Their most recent appearance was during India’s 2022 World Cup semi-final loss to England in Adelaide in November. In order to force the pair to concentrate on ODIs and Tests, Rahul Dravid has now kept them out of India’s T20I lineup.

And the primary causes of it were India’s results as runners-up in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the ICC WTC 2023 Final.

Since they are the most seasoned players in the nation and because the T20 World Cup 2024 is quickly approaching, both of them have been called up to try to break the ICC trophy drought that has existed since the Champions trophy victory in 2013.

During a recent press conference, Yuvraj Singh, who played a pivotal role in the Indian team’s victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the CWC four years later, discussed their comeback.

Yuvraj Singh, who is well-known for his carefree and enjoyable demeanour, gave a classic Yuvraj Singh reaction.

He was questioned about Rohit and Kohli’s return and how it was displacing young, homegrown talent.

The popular Bollywood song “Kuch toh log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna” (People will say something as it’s their duty to say so) was Yuvraj Singh’s response to that.

The entire press conference room erupted in laughter as he completed his answer, which had illuminated everyone.

“They play all three formats, which is why they are coming back after a year and a half. Thus, Yuvraj Singh continued, “it’s normal for a player who plays all formats to get tired after a point and I think they have to manage their cricket so it’s best you ask the selectors and the management this question.”

When asked if he thought that India would win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which begins in June, Yuvraj Singh again responded appropriately, saying, “You have to ask God.”

According to a recent video released by the soft drink company Thumbs Up, Yuvraj Singh supported Pakistan or South Africa to win the trophy. However, at the press conference, he gave a completely different statement.

On June 1, the USA and West Indies will host the T20 World Cup. On June 9, the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan, longtime rivals, will take place in the famous city of New York.
